I. The Scoring Formula

Each specimen is assigned a Base Score upon submission, computed as the product of two independent assessments rendered by the League's AI taxonomic engine.

Danger × Rarity = Base Score

Danger 1–100

Medical threat posed to a healthy adult. Cross-references envenomation literature and LD₅₀ data.

90–100	Potentially lethal
60–89	Serious emergency
30–59	Hospitalisation possible
1–29	Minor or negligible

Rarity 1.0–3.0×

Derived from iNaturalist observation frequency. Measures uncommonness of wild encounter globally.

2.5–3.0×	Exceptionally rare
2.0–2.4×	Uncommon sighting
1.5–1.9×	Occasionally found
1.0–1.4×	Common species

II. Score Decay & the Half-Life Principle

A naturalist may not rest upon past laurels. Every specimen's contribution diminishes continuously over time with a 21-day half-life.

III. Submission Standards

Violations are grounds for nullification by the Commissioner.

Wild specimens only. Captive-bred or zoo-housed creatures are ineligible.

Original photographs only. Internet-sourced images will be detected and nullified.

Venomous or dangerous creatures only. Submissions not depicting a recognisable wild creature will be automatically held for Commissioner review.

No harm to specimens. Staged or harmed specimens result in permanent disqualification.

Submission limits. No more than 5 specimens per 24-hour period, 3 per hour, and a minimum of 10 minutes between submissions per naturalist.

IV. Badges & Honours

The League awards badges for notable achievements in the field. These are displayed on the leaderboard alongside a naturalist's standing.

⚗️Venomologist — Submit 5 specimens with danger ≥ 60

💀Mortis — Submit any specimen with danger ≥ 90

📚Field Scholar — Log 10 or more specimens

👑Apex — Hold the top leaderboard position

🔥On Streak — Submit in 3 consecutive calendar weeks

🕷️Arachnid — Submit 3 or more spider species

🐍Serpentine — Submit 3 or more snake species

🐝Apiarist — Submit 3 or more bee or wasp species

🦂Scorpio — Submit 2 or more scorpion species

🌍Range Rider — Submit a specimen with rarity ≥ 2.5× (exceptionally uncommon wild encounter)

🎯Sharp Eye — Receive an AI confidence score of 90% or higher

🌙Night Shift — Submit 3 specimens between 8 pm and 5 am

🏆Century — Accumulate 100 or more total base points across all submissions
